Bob's professional career encompasses
thirty years of live performances. The last fifteen of which
are primarily national and global appearances. His performance
schedule includes jazz festivals and personal appearances spanning
the globe. Bob appears regularly with the Titan Hot Seven,
Wally's Warehouse Waifs and as a duo with Jeff Barnhart,
who is also a noted pianist and performer throughout the
country.
Bob performs exclusively on the "high
seas" for Jazzdagen Tours, appearing on ships sailing
throughout the world.
A twenty-three year association with the
popular Garden Avenue Seven Jazz Band has brought this
clarinetist to the forefront of Jazz, a position he richly
deserves. Bob's is a "fat sound," smooth and silky, using the
entire range of his horn. His fluid tones reflect a mix of
Irving Fazola and Benny Goodman, and his solos bristle with
inventiveness and authority.
Since leaving the Garden Avenue Seven, a
band he founded and led for twenty-two years, Bob has led several
all-star bands, was co-leader of the Draga-Vax Connection
for three years and has worked frequently with Johnny
Varro, Tom Saunders, Rick Fay, Bob Haggard and other
world class jazz performers.
He has several recordings to his
credit. Swing Sweet Clarinet, recorded with his own
quartet. Rhapsody In Silver, as a featured soloist
with The Jack Daniels Original Silver Cornet Band.
His very popular recording, Mood Swings, which he recorded
with a symphony orchestra. And his latest CD, A Palette of
Love Songs, which he recorded with Joe Fos and Bill
Andrews.
Playing steadily with the very popular
Titan Hot Seven of Nashville, he has recorded Jam in
Music City, Never the Same Way Once, and most recently, Out
of the Box.
In addition to playing a superb
clarinet, Bob presents an almost wicked brand of
humor. He may make you cry, laugh, roar, or applaud wildly,
but, he will move you to emotion.
